CLOSED: Sign up for the Christmas Card Exchange 2020!

Sign up for our sixth annual Christmas Card Exchange for Dachshund lovers!

It has been a turbulent year for everyone. We are in the midst of a pandemic, US elections, and civil rights movements, all of which are heavy and very important topics. During these pressing times, Dachshunds United hopes to bring some light to the final few months of 2020 with the sixth edition of our Christmas Card Exchange!

This edition will be like any other! Send Christmas cards to Dachshund lovers from all over the world to spread the Holiday spirit – doxie style! The goal of our card exchanges is to bring the Dachshund community closer together. In these days of emails, Facebook, and Instagram, how fun is it to actually get in real contact with Dachshund fanatics?! Hundreds of people and Dachshunds have participated in our previous card exchanges and we have created a strong community of recurring participants. The only thing that is different this year is the sign-up period. Due to the pandemic, mail can take significantly longer even when it is domestic. Hence, the deadline to sign up has been set for November 15th, which is significantly earlier than previous years. However, this also means you will receive your pen pals sooner and have to send out your cards on an earlier date.

Rules of the game:

  1. Fill in the form at the bottom of this page on or before November 15th;
    • Your information will only be shared with your pen pals and is never used for commercial purposes.
    • By participating, you automatically sign up for our newsletter. You can opt out if you wish;
  2. According to your choice, you will receive your chosen number of pen pals. So, if you want five pen pals, you will have to send five cards and should receive five cards;
    • Only US citizens can opt to only send domestically;
    • Unfortunately, I cannot guarantee you will receive an equal amount of cards that you sent. I remind participants of the deadline, but I do not control people nor the postal services.
  3. On or before November 22nd, you will receive your pen pals’ names and addresses via email. You need to treat this personal information with care and never share it with other people;
    • Please do not start inquiring about your pen pals before November 22nd, I am not a machine and organising this is a lot of work. Please be patient 🙂
  4. You are expected to have sent all your cards on or before December 1st. This means you have at least 9 days to get your cards ready.
    • You are allowed to send accompanying small gifts with your cards, as long as it is appropriate and not too costly. However, sending gifts is completely optional and is not expected of participants.
    • If you fail to meet the deadline, please let me know so I can keep my administration up do date 🙂
  5. If you need to drop out of the card exchange, please let me know as soon as possible so I have the opportunity to rearrange some pen pals.

Unfortunately, the registration period has ended.

Thanks for signing up! Make sure to use #DUChristmasCardExchange2020 if you post something on your social media! If you would have any questions or comments or would like to cancel your participation, please send an email to cardexchange@dachshundsunited.com.
